Alhamdulillah the orders are getting more and more each day , but it's now starting to coincide with the delivery times.
Deliveries are usually far, so they take up so much of my time. I'm thinking I could bake 3-5 cakes while im out delivering cakes.
So to be fair, since many customers call for end-of-week orders, I will no longer do deliveries from thursdays - Sundays. I feel bad for turning down orders because this is what I'm in for - baking for people - and it shouldn't be cut short just because I have to deliver, which is secondary to my business.
And I do understand the fact that people from Ampang or Bangi would have to travel so far to shah alam just for my cakes, but come to think of it, there is no one place that I can have to satisfy all my customers from all over in Klang Valley, right? Even if im right smack in kl, people from shah alam would then complain, right?
So as a start, im going to limit my delivery days only on Monday - Wednesday. We'll see how it goes, the bottom line is I want my customers to be happy and I really don't want to turn down anyone if I could.

HAPPY 2011!
What a great year 2010 has been! I am so thankful to God that in this year, I was blessed with so many new customers and so much support. It has made me more inspired to bake more and to serve them better. Still learning, but I am enjoying every bit of it.
...and I am especially thankful that because of what 2010 has brought me, I am now doing That Last Slice full time! Yup, no more part-time graphic designer, part time baker. In fact, it's more like full time baker, part time graphic designer now. :)
I have learnt that focus is the magic word, for me at least. I believe this is the best decision i made for myself because I owe it to everyone who believes in me.
So anyway, here's for more yummy desserts in 2011! Cheers!

new flavours
thinking of coming up with a new cake.
i've always wanted to organize my cakes into separate series, like Pies, Chocolate Cakes, Macarons, etc.
so I've an idea about coming up with the White Series:
- Velvet Rouge ( covered with cream cheese frosting)
- Banana cake with white chocolate praline filling (i baked this once for a friend's engagement..but this pic below is not my own)

turquoise kitchen gadgets
i've been meaning to start my own collection of turquoise kitchen gadgets... it's rare to find gadgets/bakeware/serveware in turquoise/aqua blue in KL!
*sigh*
but it's ok... my sister is in NY for a work trip so I asked her for a favour to help me get these!

martha stewart spatula
Goldas turquoise and dark brown cupcake cups
so That Last Slice, don't you think? :)
an upgrade
so excited to get this new baby!
for the past 2 weeks i've been just staring at the computer contemplating should i or should i not get a new mixer for my cake business.
it is a big investment, and it's been my dream to have such an awesome machinery that's my own.
currently the kitchenaid at home is my sister's, so i do feel like it's for everyone to use and not just me and my business. and now, alhamdulillah with some profit that i got off my cakes, i finally get to have my own!
it's like.... rewarding yourself with something special and beautiful..like a nice piece of jewelry.
this is my jewel.

selamat hari raya!
i just found out this kuih raya is actually a real kuih raya... i thought it's something like the store-bought jellies with sugar sprinkles, but it's not! Mom told me it's basically a dried agar-agar. it's dried until all the moisture content dries out and the sugar crystals appear! so cool. i should try it out some day kan?
