then one day, i was browsing the aisles in Jaya Grocer, and i spotted what would make my dream come true: Graham crackers! (Mind you, graham crackers are rare in KL. i dont know why, it's just crackers, but maybe there's no demand? so this spotting was a miracle.)
so my mission to make MY own s'mores is on.
i love that i also have a torch (for creme brulee) so i could also melt my marshmallows this way.
4th layer: 1 graham cracker square. sandwich it and squeeze.
mmmm!
see how super easy it is? and yes, it tastes just like how i imagined it to be! everything tastes better when you make it yourself. :)
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Samantha or Sam. Having grown up in Iowa in the USA, s'mores were a campsite staple. Craving s'mores in the winter can be a challenge, especially when there is 2-3 feet of snow on the ground! It makes it hard to build a camp fire to roast the marshmallows to melt the chocolate. An easy substitute for a camp fire are the burners on the stove. I am not sure what type of stoves are available in KL, but it really doesn't matter if it is a gas, electric or wood burning type. Use some type of skewer and hold the marshmallow over the flame or heating element. We have made skewers using a cut up wire coat hanger to a meat carving fork to a bamboo skewer that has been soaked it water,(so it doesn't burn). The torch was a great idea, but a suggestion to get a better roast marshmallow taste, don't be afraid to let a bit of it char or if you are careful, catch on fire. It should be very gooey on the inside when you remove it from the skewer. I haven't tried the Cadbury chocolate instead of Hershey's, but it sounds delicious! Regardless of how it is fixed, anything with graham crackers, marshmallows and choclate is mouth watering!
Hi Sam, thanks, I should really try with skewers on stove fire! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Aishah,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where I can find HALAL marshmallows - in Klang Valley? The brand name?
Thanks
